I have a phobia of anesthesia
What if I don’t wake up?
Sudden travel canceled the appointment

Seeing the gastroenterologist
in eighteen years means
I am old enough anything can
go wrong; I only hope for
the best outcome.

Some Moments
As we drift in
the stream of
our days we
come upon
odd moment
evokes our wit,
smile that wash
the doldrums,
discover merits
in our selves
that have been
buried in the
dimmer days, like
little gold nuggets
found in sand, they
brighten our spirits.

No Quitting
All my youth I’ve been
searching for my dream
in the sea of the blue world
now that I’m old-young,
still, I’m hopping.
Masochist or
a placid idiot, I don’t care
what they say. this
my endeavor will go on
until the sea turns into me and
I, the sea, for all I have
is the tenacity.

Winter Juniper
On a windy January day,
talking to you
and sniffing at the berries,
surprised at your scent
fresh and sweet as summer's day!

winter gray evening
feeling down to the ground
writing to an old friend
sudden sunlight fills in my heart
wakes the dozing Spring maiden
