Flying Against the Flow

I’ve learned to fly
against the flow
now and then
to avoid the attraction
disguised in beauty
beyond the horizon
where many gather,
misguided
only to return,
broken hearted
that could consume
years to recover, wasted,
precious time undoable
I’ve learned to fly against the flow
not to follow the blinded flock

The New Sea

(FICTION)

Flower:  Guess whose car that is.
Me:  I don’t know.
Flower:  The man who used to live in the village
down the hill when he was a child.
Me:  No village is down the hill but the sea.
Flower:  The village is submerged under the sea.
Me:  How did it happen?
Flower:  Guess.
Me:  Arctic melt caused it?
Flower:  Nope.
Me:  The rain that poured down for months must’ve been
the culprit!
Flower:  Close enough.  But do you know what caused the such
a rain storm?
Me:  Climate change, of course.
Flower:  Wrong.  Aliens made the storm clouds from the ocean.
They will do that again until all the humans are drowned.
Me:  Unbelievable!

* This is based on my new book that will be out in March or
April 2018.  Implausible, you might say, but after reading the
book, you might nod, saying:  “It’s possible.”

delight

Rough as ancients
we sought our way
to refine ourselves
between stormy waves
Result is a delight

*
Sometimes we come upon
a startling beauty of art
rendered by Nature
The distant, beckoning mountain
the mirror-like, calm water
the rainbow pebbles in the water
the clouds that simulate the colors of pebbles
the single leaf kisses
What a masterful composition!
And It is free for us to see.

Golden Humility

21106771_1155047444639714_7672136536704476226_n

Evening’s blush
reflects our minds
as we ponder what
we have done
with our talent
Spring hope
ardent summer
summed in golden
yet ordinary blooms,
while expanding our realm
Unfulfilled dreams tucked in
the back of our consciousness,
we approach the closure
or begin a renewal,
find humble joy in our smiles

Between the Seasons

We leave various hues and
patterns of our lives in
the passing seasons,
pause to reflect in those
somber moments

baffled by the smudges
as mistaken-love affair
or breaches out of despair

we somehow pull through
then turn, armed with
gained insight to tackle
the coming winter

We embrace arduous
repetition of seasons
the intrinsic beauty of
renewal that follows
juxtapose colors
and forms of our days

*
It happened again, the mass killing!
This time not by a terrorist but an insane person.
A man fired gun at the innocent, music lovers in concert
in Las Vegas, killing at least 59 people and jnjuring numerous
people.  Prayers and condolences go to the victims and their
families.

Ways of We Fly/Eagle

dreamstimefree_1976834

We struggle
to figure out
why our way of flying
disturbs others
when we only do it
in our unique way our wings do

Despite our spirit of
embracing goodness
our unconscious minds
emit vaporized arrogance
that turns the sky somber
triggers lunacy in others
We still learn our way of fly

dreams of enhancing our ways
encourage others do the same
coexist in peace with kinship
