I have been vexed by computer virus that makes some of my post(s)
disappear. In addition, WP editor doesn’t work well; why do they
change things that are working so well, only to make them worse?

You are not alone. I think they do it out of boredom or because if they don’t ruin things they will get fired for not having enough to do. It’s insane and we all hate it.

Block editor is nothing but annoying; pretends doing something new when in fact it stole classic editor’s function.
