Evening’s blush
reflects our minds
as we ponder what
we have done

ardent summer
summed in golden
yet ordinary blooms,
while expanding our realm
Unfulfilled dreams tucked in
the back of our consciousness,
we approach the closure
or begin a renewal,
find humble joy in our smiles

We leave various hues and
patterns of our lives in
the passing seasons,
pause to reflect in those
somber moments

baffled by the smudges
as mistaken-love affair
or breaches out of despair

we somehow pull through
then turn, armed with
gained insight to tackle
the coming winter

We embrace arduous
repetition of seasons
the intrinsic beauty of
renewal that follows
juxtapose colors
and forms of our days

It happened again, the mass killing!
This time not by a terrorist but an insane person.
A man fired gun at the innocent, music lovers in concert
in Las Vegas, killing at least 59 people and jnjuring numerous
people.  Prayers and condolences go to the victims and their
families.

We struggle
to figure out
why our way of flying
disturbs others
when we only do it
in our unique way our wings do

Despite our spirit of
embracing goodness
our unconscious minds
emit vaporized arrogance
that turns the sky somber
triggers lunacy in others
We still learn our way of fly

dreams of enhancing our ways
encourage others do the same
coexist in peace with kinship

The cocoon pulsates in the shrub
as scent bursts with fresh force,
after rainy night, stirring
the sweet memory
vitalize the languid soul
Sudden deja vu…
Drifting bacon smell rouses hunger
while the wind chime let out
soft laughs, gyrating and spraying
the golden sunbeams into the air
like the breeze in the blonde hair
The day’s plan, mere continuation of
yesterday, renews itself in the rhythm

Here in the corner
away from the city
oxygen is just
for you and me
in our sanctum
my thoughts
are clear as tears
Now I know
what to tell her
Will she take me in?
If not, I’ll return to
this little corner,
heal the wound,
settle for you and me

Why do we long
to live somewhere else
only to return?

Who hasn't dreamed of leaving his or her hometown or home country at least 
once in their lifetime?  Longing for unfamiliar place is a human nature.  Especially, when you are young it is even more so.

I thought about my insecure youth and my old home--the city, the country I 
left behind.  Sometimes, I wanted to go back, wondering if she--South 
Korea--would take me in without the official paperwork.  Of course not.  
It's just a whimsical thought.

I've lived in U.S. for decades and I got used to the lifestyle of the 
country. I don't regret for coming here.  Just having a little sentiment, 
now and then, with the obvious yet mundane realization that eclipses the youthful fantasy about the foreign land.

Now, there's a strong trend of immigration, especially among South Korean 
young people. Relatives and Friends are worried about the matter.  
Of course, making the informed decision is a must.  I would not, 
nevertheless, discourage young people who want to make a new life 
elsewhere.  Let them explore, discover, and learn.  When, for some reason, 
they decide to return to their mother country embrace them, instead of 
giving them leery-eyes, as if they were quasi-trators.  (I still remember 
those eyes on me last time when I visited Seoul.)  

Discuss about what they've learned from their discovery. That would give 
some insights to the wannabe explorers in making the important decision on 
their immigration plan.  

Longing to go somewhere unfamiliar is in our bones.  Being curious or to 
make better life.  Isn't that why we do study and explore space?  Explore, discover, and learn.  That spirit is what started the great country, 
America!

no one notices me
but I do my best

Sometimes, unwillingly
we influence others,
making us to have
some moral responsibility
on someone’s affected action
We feel guilty; suffer emotional stress
for what’s broken, trying to help
the committer or victim,
with compassion, understanding,
make it less miserable
Along the way we learn,
painstakingly, how to avoid the trap
even before crossing
the borderline,
make our uncertain path
a bit more predictable
and pleasant as we walk along.

Like the dry leaves
in the back yard
the spirit has blown away
in the wind
Long to be moored

The news from the city:
he’ll lose his one eye
then might lose the other.
It can’t happen to him, for
he is a handsome dude.
He was who took me Mom’s
grave site last time;
he showed me around
the changed city.  Next time,
he won’t be able to do that, blinded!
Lost a sister not long ago,
I don’t want to lose my brother now.
Getting aged is sad, losing parts
of body is beyond the emotion.
So, one by one, we disappear
like late morning dewdrops!
The Nature’s order always emits blue,
I fight not to allow it glued to my mind.
Love, laugh more, while flow with time
till the bright light looms over the horizon.
After all, we are Mother Nature’s
obedient children, until the day
we’ll be able to curve her rule just a bit.
